Meet the Staff

She may be the first friendly voice when you call the office.  Or she may be the one who calls you back when you have a question only an office manager can answer.  She is Claudia.  With over 40 years of experience in the Ridgecrest location, she is the backbone of the office by keeping our office running smoothly.  Aside from the doctor, she can do everyone’s job in the office if needed.  One of her favorite positions in the office is to help new contact lens wearers learn skills to put the contacts in and out of their eyes.  She really enjoys the feeling she gets helping someone put the contacts in for the very first time. When she is not at the office she enjoys going to concerts, traveling with family, vegetable gardening, and taking care of her pets.  She has several tortoises who are older than she has been married.  Additionally, she loves her dogs and cats as they are her babies.

When arriving to the office one of the first friendly faces you will meet is Cara.  She is one of our Ridgecrest office receptionists.  We call our office a family and one of the greatest things about working in the office are the relationships formed through helping our patients.  Cara also happens to be related to one of us as our office manager’s niece.  She and Claudia enjoy keeping our office organized.  Both share a joy as well in taking vacations together.  One of Cara’s favorite vacation places is taking her husband and son to Disneyland.  It is truly their Happiest Place on Earth.  Have you ever seen the television show Friends?  Just for fun, Cara was asked if she could be a television character who would she be.  She could not make up her mind between Rachel who is independent and strong and Phoebe who is funny.  

When arriving to the office one of the first friendly faces you will meet is Linda.  The best part of being one of our Ridgecrest receptionists is that she loves the opportunity to meet you all.  She appreciates that many different people make the world an interesting place.  She has a passion to be able to help others.  She will help you make sure your appointment is known and that your information is correct in your chart.  She loves to quilt and sew.  She strives to be hard working and kind to all. She is loved by her puppy, Ellie, 3 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, 9 grandkids, and 2 great-grandkids. Just for fun she was asked if she could be a Disney Character who would she be.  She likes Snow White.  Next time you see her ask her why.

One of the first tests you will receive in an eye examination is reading the eye chart.  You may wonder whether you are reading an E or F or maybe a C or O.  Let me tell you a secret.  Those letters are intentionally tricky.  To lighten your spirits while reading those tricky letters, let me introduce you to Jackie.  She loves to make people smile and laugh.  Her role in the Ridgecrest office is to prepare you to see the doctor, including asking you to read the alphabet. Jackie was asked if she could be a superhero who would she be.  She chose a strong woman known as Wonder Woman.  Jackie is truly a wonder as she keeps track of the patient cancellation list and supports her country and family by being a proud military wife. You may see her in the audience at a local sporting event as she enjoys watching her kids play sports.  

Do you have a glasses prescription?  Liza will help you look your best in a new pair of glasses.  She has over 7 years of experience as an Optician.  She will guide you to the right pair of frames and lens options that will compliment your lifestyle.  Just for fun, Liza was asked if she could be a character in a book or movie who would she be.  She chose an independent and strong woman who genuinely cares for her friends and family.  This character is Hermoine in the Harry Potter series.  Fans may remember that Hermoine is a smart student of wizardry and had to make sacrifices to protect her family and preserve the betterment of the world.  Similarly, Liza understands making true sacrifices in her desire to show love to her family, friends, the community, and our country.   She mentors the youth of Ridgecrest through being a Cheer Coach.  And, she is a proud Marine Corp Wife and Airforce Mom.  Stop by and meet Liza.
